Losing Zeussy: A Love That Changed My Life
Six weeks ago, my world shifted in a way I never expected. I lost my beloved Pomeranian, Zeussy. He was 11 years old, and although I didn’t have him from a puppy, he came into my life at just two years old when I rehomed him from a family that could no longer care for him properly. From that day forward, Zeussy became my shadow, my joy, and my little ball of love. Zeussy wasn’t just a dog. He was the friendliest soul you could ever meet. Even people who weren’t dog lovers adored him. Friends who visited my home would always comment on his warm greetings and happy energy. The hole he has left in my life, and in the lives of my friends and family, is enormous. Even now, people come over and say how much they miss Zeussy and his beautiful presence.
The Reality of Grief
Grief is powerful. It can feel like a wave that knocks you off your feet and leaves you gasping for air. When Zeussy passed suddenly and unexpectedly, I cried every single day. I cried because I missed him. I cried every morning when I woke up and instinctively reached for his leash, ready for our daily walk. I cried until there were no more tears left. Crying is a release. It’s exhausting, but it’s also cleansing. It’s the body’s way of letting go of pain. Grief is not weakness. It is love with nowhere to go.
Turning to Energy Healing for Support
During those first few weeks, what helped me most was turning to the energy healing tools I use every day in my clinic. These gentle yet powerful modalities supported my nervous system, my emotions and my heart when everything felt heavy. Energy healing works by helping restore balance within the body’s energetic system, allowing emotions to move rather than becoming stuck.
The Energy Healing modalites I turned to were Sound Healing, Emotion Code, NET, Kinesiology and Quantum Healing.
Bush Flower Essences for Grief and Loss
Australian Bush Flower Essences became my anchor during this time. Red Suva Frangipani is a beautiful essence for grief and loss, especially after the death of a loved one.
I also used:
• Bottlebrush – for letting go and moving forward
• Waratah – for strength during dark times
• Boronia – to calm the mind when thoughts keep circling
These remedies work gently but deeply, helping soften heartbreak and bring moments of peace when everything feels overwhelming. Here are some of the Vibrant Health Oils blends that I used –
Emergency Essence, Calm Day, Happy Day, Personal Bush Flower Essence blend, Sleepy Time.
Essential Oils for Emotional Healing
Essential oils were another source of comfort during this time. I diffused Lavender for calm, Frankincense for grounding and Rose for heart healing. I also applied them to my body, allowing their soothing properties to support me on a deeper emotional level. The ritual of using essential oils has always been a form of self care for me, and during grief that ritual became even more important. It gave me something nurturing and grounding to return to each day.

The Power of Sound Healing During Grief
Sound healing also played a powerful role in my healing journey. I have beautiful chimes in my clinic room, and during those early weeks I used my chakra chimes often. Their tones helped clear my energy field and brought calm when my heart felt unbearably heavy. Sound has the ability to shift energy in ways words cannot. It reaches places that conversation sometimes never could.
There Is No Shortcut Through Grief
Grief is a journey and there is no shortcut through it. But I truly believe that without bush flower essences, essential oils and sound healing, it would have taken me much longer to find my way back to myself.
These tools did not erase the pain. They helped me process it. They gave me moments of peace.
They supported me in carrying the love forward rather than being consumed by the loss.
If you are grieving, allow yourself to cry. Let the tears flow. Then when you feel ready, explore the gentle support that nature and energy healing can offer. Healing does not mean forgetting. It means finding a way to carry the love forward.

How to Cope With Grief After Losing a Pet
Losing a beloved pet can be one of the most painful experiences a person goes through. Our animals are not just companions, they are family members, daily routines, and unconditional sources of love. When a pet passes away, it can feel like a part of your world has disappeared overnight. The quiet house, the empty bed, the missing sound of paws following you around can make the grief feel overwhelming and anxiety sets in. If you are grieving the loss of a pet, it is important to remember that your feelings are valid. The bond between humans and animals is incredibly deep, and the grief that follows their passing is a reflection of the love that existed.
There is no “right” timeline for grief. Some days you may feel peaceful, while other days the sadness may return unexpectedly. Allow yourself to experience those emotions without judgement. Many people find comfort in creating small rituals to honour their pet’s memory. This could be planting a tree, lighting a candle, looking through photos, or simply speaking to them in your heart.
Natural healing tools can also support the emotional process. Gentle therapies such as Energy Healing, Essential Oils, Sound Healing, and Bush Flower Essences can help calm the nervous system, soften emotional pain, and support the heart as it moves through grief. Most importantly, remember that grief does not mean the love has gone. Love simply changes form. The connection you shared with your pet will always remain part of you.
